Ready When It Counts
Your BLS card is the difference between watching and acting.
American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers — Taught at Our South Plainfield Location
Clinical staff across northern New Jersey — from University Hospital in Newark to Trinitas in Elizabeth and Overlook in Summit — are expected to hold a current AHA BLS Provider card from an authorized training site before their first shift. We teach BLS at our South Plainfield location, and your AHA eCard is issued the day you finish your skills session.
Everything the AHA curriculum requires, taught in groups small enough that nobody watches from the back of the room.
In practice, BLS is the baseline credential for anyone whose job puts them near a patient. If you are starting a clinical role, renewing before an expiry date, or entering a nursing or allied health program in Union or Essex County, this is the card you need.
Cardiac arrest does not wait for the ambulance. Roughly 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen across the United States every year, and survival odds fall sharply with each minute that passes before compressions begin. In a county as dense as Union, the person who starts CPR is almost always someone who already works there.

Hospital systems across Union and Essex County apply a consistent rule: BLS must come from an AHA authorized training site, and online-only cards are not accepted.

Part of RWJBarnabas Health and one of Union County’s major hospitals. Nursing, allied health and support clinical roles all carry a current-BLS condition of employment.
Atlantic Health’s 504-bed teaching hospital serving Union, Morris and Essex counties. Renewal is expected before the existing card lapses rather than after.
Nursing and health science students routinely need BLS in hand before their first clinical placement.

Yes. We are an AHA authorized training site, and the eCard we issue is the standard AHA BLS Provider credential recognized by hospital systems throughout New Jersey and nationwide.
No, and that is deliberate. Both are $100. You pay the same whether this is your first BLS card or your fifth, so there is never a penalty for letting us know it is a renewal.
Book the same course. If your card lapsed you simply take the standard BLS class again — there is no separate late fee and no additional paperwork.
BLS skills sessions are held at our South Plainfield location, not at our Union training center on Morris Avenue. The exact address and directions are included in your booking confirmation. If you need CPR / AED / First Aid instead, that class runs at our Union center.
